NETWORK ASSESSMENT AND PLANNING

Technology systems are an expensive and critical asset to many organizations. Yet all too often the IT people are not in sync with the strategic direction of the organization. Management staff often do not have a good understanding of the technology systems and are left wondering what systems are in place, where they are vulnerable, and what they should consider in the near term.
Technology Planning is a process that can help answer the following questions:
       What is our current environment?
How does our technology systems help us interact with our constituents?
Are there any areas where we can save money?
What systems need to be upgraded, and what will the return on investment be?
Do we have the internal skills necessary to create the environment we need?
In short, a technology plan will show you where you are now, where you should be, and what steps you will need to take to get there.
NPower Los Angeles has the following services in the assessment and planning area.

Quick Audit.  Designed for smaller organizations who may not have the capacity to undertake an exhaustive technology planning process, the Quick Audit is a short process designed to tell you where you are now, list areas of vulnerability, and focus on projects that must be completed in 3-6 months.

The Quick Audit is priced as a flat fee, and includes an inventory of your systems, a brief report on our findings, and top priority projects.

Price: $300

Strategic Technology Planning
The reasons driving an organization to undertake a technology planning process are always different: a new database is needed, rapid growth of an organization, or simply to document the goals and objectives. In all cases, the purpose of a technology plan is still the same:
Management of an expensive and critical asset to the organization
Improve communication between management and technology staff
Coordinate the technology systems with the organization’s strategic goals
Plan the flow of information and processes
       Efficiently allocate technology resources
Reduce the time and expense of technology systems
A technology planning process can be extensive or narrowly focused, providing a clear direction over three or four years, or focused on next year’s goals. Each project is customized to the needs of the organization, but will contain the following components:
Situational Analysis: Where you are now. Analysis of organizational direction, internal and external pressures, and detailed analysis of your technology systems
Strategy Formulation: Where you want to be. Goals and objectives for your organization and its relation to technology
Strategy Implementation: How do we get there. Specific plan on how you can accomplish your goals from a technology standpoint including budget and phased strategy.
Price: Call us for a free consultation. Prices for strategic technology plans range from $1,000 to $5,000 depending on the needs of your organization.
