Course Description:
Whether you have little experience using a personal computer or want to gain new skills and shortcuts, this seminar will give you the foundation you need to operate a computer effectively. The first half of the seminar is dedicated to Windows XP. Here, you will learn about the Windows interface, mouse functions and operations, desktop customization and computer maintenance. The second half, Introduction to Internet Explorer, gives you the tools you need to browse and find information on the Internet quickly and effectively. Topics covered here include displaying web pages, acquiring information from the web, organizing favorite web sites, downloading compressed files, keyboard shortcuts and more. Special Nonprofit Fees: $30 for Center Associates; $50 other nonprofit organizations.
